In Red- Dialogue on Croatian and Hungarian themes for 2 pianos by Eduard Kurtrowatz

The painting "In Rot", inspired by Eduard Kutrowatz's composition, which is composed of five musical movements - "Improvisando", "Laufwerk", "Intermezzo", "Blues", "Laufwerk" - and uses Croatian and Hungarian themes for two pianos, translates the dynamic and emotional qualities of this music into a visual language. The dominant red color scheme reflects the passion and profound emotional resonance of the music, which is closely linked to these regional cultures.

On the left of the picture, thin spatula strokes convey the feeling of improvisation, symbolizing the creative freedom and unpredictability of the "Improvisando" section. Towards the right, the picture develops with dynamic, thicker strokes that represent a powerful, rhythmic movement and capture the pulsating tempo of the "Laufwerk" movement, a depiction of constant, driving motion.

In the center of the painting, softer, more flowing strokes embody the "intermezzo", a musical pause or transition that often creates a lyrical and reflective mood - interpreted here as a fugue. The "blues" part is expressed through more intense, darker shades of red, capturing the typical melancholy and emotional depth of this musical style.

The painting closes on the right-hand edge with a repetition of the "Laufwerk" motif, again represented by energetic and strong spatula strokes that emphasize the return to the initial theme and the cyclical nature of the musical structure.

This artwork not only offers a visual representation of the music, but also creates an almost audible experience through its vibrant and expressive color palette and painting technique, reflecting the power, intensity and emotional depth of Kutrowatz's composition.
